Saturday, 4 May 2019, 2:20 pm, Kammermusiksaal (level 1)
This session will present a number of projects from across Europe on the important topic of building retrofitting. The EU-funded SINFONIA project, of which the Passive House Institute has been a partner, has investigated the district level retrofitting of cities and the tools required to enable these projects to be realised cost-effectively. The city of Innsbruck, Austria was one of the lead cities of the SINFONIA project and key lessons from this trial project will be presented.
District heating still has a role to play in the future of housing and a special presentation on the integration of district heating with Passive House buildings will be held in this session. Two project specific presentations will be held in this session, one detailing the retrofit of a tall building in Italy and the other on the retrofitting of two schools in Austria. These lectures will present in detail the key lessons from these differing projects.
